Photography has been a passion of mine since I was a teenager working on the high school yearbook. What began as a hobby quickly became a lifelong obsession. After high school I moved to Boston where I earned my BFA and MFA in Photography. How I see and photograph now, and how I show up as a photographer, are greatly influenced by my education and studying the work of photographers like Elliott Erwitt, Mary Ellen Mark, Alec Soth, Vivian Meir, and Henri Cartier-Bresson.
So why wedding photography? Wedding photography in particular is where I get to utilize all the parts of myself that I value the most. I love the physical challenge of an 8-10 hour day carrying four cameras—staying present in my emotions, attuning to the energy of those around me, and getting into flow with their feelings. At the same time, I’m thinking technically, balancing multiple camera systems to not just get the right exposure, but to truly capture the character of the light in a scene. I’m constantly anticipating key moments, positioning myself ahead of time for the best shot. It’s both thrilling and deeply fulfilling.
Documentary photography is a lot like poetry. With poetry, every word carries weight, its meaning shaped not just by its own presence but by its relationship to the space on the page and the words around it. The same is true for photographs. A single frame captures a single moment, but it’s in the sequence—the rhythm of light, movement, and expression—that a fuller story unfolds. I am not a writer, but through my lens, I compose with light and time, capturing the fleeting moments that, together, reveal the depth of an experience. I approach each wedding as its own unique documentary project. I bring my whole self—fully present in the emotion, attuned to the details, and committed to telling a story as artfully as I can.
Ultimately, a photographer is unlike any other wedding vendor. We get to be present during the most intimate moments on one of the most important days in two individual peoples’ lives. Having the privilege to witness the bravery, boldness, and vulnerability of two people saying “yes” to an unknown future, as part of my job, is an incredible honor. The photographs that result, to me feel like a humble offering of gratitude I get to deliver to say "thank you" for the privilege and for trusting me.
Your wedding day is all about you—your love, your story, and the people you've gathered to witness and celebrate your partnership. I'm not there to capture how it looked, but how it felt to live it. It’s not about perfect poses or timelines; or manufactured moments. It’s about being fully present, soaking in every laugh, every tear, every spilled drink. The photos? They’ll capture the real stuff—the love, the joy, the connection—and transport you back to these moments for years to come.
On a wedding day, I only capture what's unfolds in front of my lens,
and it's always breathtaking.
“YOU ARE AN ARTIST! We are in awe, you are so talented. I’m serious. You’re actually selling fine art, not wedding photos. Every single photo took 1-2 minutes before we moved on to the next. Our jaws were on the floor. So many of these photos almost feel like 3D! They literally feel like they’re moving. I’m freaking out, the photos are just amazing.”
